1. Who we are
Utilix Energy Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an independent energy broker (a Third Party Intermediary, or “TPI”) registered in England and Wales under company number 17249683, with our registered office at 132 Seals Drive, Wakefield, WF7 7FT, United Kingdom. We are the data controller responsible for your personal data.

2. The data we collect
We may collect and process the following categories of personal data:
- Contact details: name, business name, job title, email, telephone number, business address.
- Business and energy data: company number, meter point numbers (MPAN/MPRN), current supplier, contract end dates, consumption data, tariff information, copies of recent bills.
- Authority documents: signed Letters of Authority (LOAs) authorising us to act on your behalf.
- Communications: records of calls, emails and other correspondence, including call recordings used for training and compliance.
- Website data: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited and cookie data (see our Cookie Policy).
3. How we use your data and our lawful bases
We process your personal data on the following lawful bases under the UK GDPR:
- Contract: to provide our brokerage services, obtain quotes, arrange new contracts and manage your account.
- Legitimate interests: to operate, improve and market our services to business customers, monitor renewals, prevent fraud and maintain records.
- Legal obligation: to comply with tax, accounting and regulatory requirements.
- Consent: where required, for example for certain electronic marketing communications. You may withdraw consent at any time.
4. Sharing your data
To deliver our services, we share relevant information with:
- Energy suppliers and our partnered energy services provider (Tritility) in order to obtain quotes, perform credit checks, register new contracts and process objections or terminations on your behalf.
- Industry data providers and network operators (e.g. for retrieval of MPAN/MPRN and consumption data).
- Service providers who support our business — including IT, hosting, CRM, telephony, accounting and analytics providers — under appropriate contracts.
- Regulators, ADR schemes, professional advisers and law enforcement where we are legally required or permitted to do so.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. International transfers
Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we ensure it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations, the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. How long we keep your data
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including to satisfy legal, accounting or reporting requirements. Contract and commission records are typically retained for at least six years after the end of the relevant contract.
7. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Be informed about how we use your personal data;
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- Request rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Request erasure of your data in certain circumstances;
- Restrict or object to our processing of your data;
- Data portability;
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent;
- Not be subject to automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects.

8. Marketing
We may contact you about energy contract renewals and related services we believe will benefit your business. You can opt out at any time by emailing us or using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
9. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
